Midland Mainline Electrification – CRTs & EMG

Key Facts

The Midland Mainline Electrification (MMLE) programme will electrify the rail route from London to Nottingham and Sheffield, delivered in phases to support the UK Government’s 2050 net zero carbon targets.

For this phase, EFA Engineering developed the Technical Requirements documentation (CR-Ts) for the electrification and route clearance enabling works between Market Harborough, Nottingham, and Sheffield via Derby. The team also produced a comprehensive Engineering Management Plan to guide project delivery.

Throughout the process, EFA actively engaged with key stakeholders through multiple meetings, ensuring all technical and operational requirements were captured to support a smooth and coordinated implementation.
